:) #RenewThePlayer

Sigh,

We didn't blog for two weeks, not because there wasn't anything to write about, but because we were super busy in life.

A lot has happened.

First, the bad news.

Unfortunately, The Player has been cancelled.  The network stopped production on the last episode that was being filmed.  Fans only get 9 episodes.  It wasn't faring well against the top TV show of the season and Thursday night football.

Another sigh...

We're all extremely gutted.  Gutted-the word of the week.

We loved Thursday nights with the cast and crew, all the guest stars and new friends on Twitter.

The show was too good for network TV.

Hope of hopes that another network or online company takes it, but it does not seem to be, so far.  If we hear anything, we'll let you know.

Here are some pictures from the last episode filming:

If this show does not get renewed, we hope for the best for all cast and crew.  Thank you for letting us take the ride with you.  It was AWESOME!

With this pending cancellation, this does open new avenues for Philip.

We still think he'd be the best James Bond. They should have the cast and crew create the new James Bond film.  They know action really well.  Who cares about plot when you are on the edge of your seat?!

This also opens the possibility of Philip showing up on Blindspot for a Strike Back reunion with Sullivan Stapleton.

This also opens more of a possibility of the Strike Back film.

And more possibilities for other possibilities that no one has offered yet.

Maybe we should work on our screenplay and see where it will go.  Yeah?

While Philip was promoting The Player, here is one of the the interviews:

http://ktla.com/2015/10/21/philip-winchester-is-not-corrupted-by-hollywood-and-talks-about-working-with-wesley-snipes/

Also, there was just posted a petition to save The Player.  If you believe that your signature and a petition will have an affect, sign and let everyone you know sign!  Let's get this show back!

 https://www.change.org/p/netflix-amazon-hulu-cable-usa-network-save-the-player-05a48d92-97f2-479a-b641-4b4ec7aa3b15

The best thing we can do is to still watch the show for the last four shows and then watch on DVR or apps to show the network that we love the show.  Only numbers can prove that the show is worth saving.

So make sure you watch The Player for the last 4 episodes with your friends, family, and everyone you know!

If you are on Twitter, go to our page @FansofPhilip and retweet our pinned post:

.Alright fans...let's get this MOVING across Twitter! And let NBC know how much we LOVE this show!

Until next week or see you all at FB and Twitter.

Even Philip got into the promo of his four-season mate, Sullivan Stapleton:

The Best Strike Back Episode Yet, Countdown to The Player

Hello Philip Fans!

This week we just got to view epsisode 6 in the last season of Strike Back.  To get us ready for the episode, Philip tweeted:

@philipwinchestr
It's ‪#‎Strikeback‬ day! This ep is a corker. Thanks for riding the off weekend. Half way there. Ep 6 then a @michaeljbassett 4 ep run! AV IT!

It's pretty cool that he keeps up with the fans and keeps us interested in the work he does.  We are honored to have him follow us at @fansofphilip.

As many viewers of the episode have stated, this was Philip's episode.  He shined as Stonebridge and showed how far of a talent his acting reaches.  His delivery in the interogation scene is absolutely amazing!  He goes from comical to serious drama without losing a step.

Yes, we are biased, but that is why we are his fans.  He delivers exceptional work.

Here's is a video of the beginning of that scene.  It is hillarious.  But it turns dramatic and tense after this.

You have to feel for Damien.  In this scene, Stonebridge is trying to make the N. Koreans look like fools, but it seems Damien feels that his partner has gone nuts, at the expense of Damien's son.  Luckily, that wasn't the case and what Stonebridge did, helped them escape their from their captures.

Towards the end of the episode, we get a glimpse of what could or might have been...a nice send off to Martinez with Stonebridge.  As fans, we had been waiting for something special between the two, but we were not granted that wish.  We hope that they both hook up afterwards, somehow, somewhere...

Or Milauna Jackson shows up on The Player.

It seems that Strike Back alumns are showing up one at a time on The Player  The latest was Will Yun Lee tweeted:

Sep 10
Reunited with my director and good friend for a day of smashing and bashing choreographed…

Philip and Will did a little tweet back at each other:

Mayhem is in full effect tonight on !! and myself ready 2 have tea w/Section 20?

handing out acting lessons tonight all while kicking some sec 20 ass. Miss you mate. Good to see you on

Will Yun Lee retweeted Philip Winchester
Thx 4 letting me come play my brutha !

Will Yun Lee plays Michelle Yeoh's love interest in Strike Back.
So there you have it--Strike Back actors showing up on one of the two show this month.  Let's hope to see more of them.

It seems they are still filming The Player around L.A.  A tweet went out with this photo:

The Player has been all over the place with promos.

During games today, there were a bunch showing up as seen by the tweets of newly interested parties.  The Player and Heroes have a new promo together.  We think that NBC is trying to keep parties interested after Heroes.  Let's hope that people will love the action that Strike Back brought to the table.

Another thing for fans in the UK-Crusoe, Philip's first TV show, is playing on the Drama channel every Sunday.  Until we know when The Player is going to be broadcasted in the UK and Europe, fans can watch Crusoe for the next 12 weeks.  Lucky fans!

The Player on NBC

As sad as it is to see a good show end, there's a great relief that most of the stars of Strike Back will have opportunities to be seen in other shows.

Both Philip and Sully will be starring in their own shows on network television.

Philip's new project is called "The Player."  It was just announced that the show has been picked up by NBC.  It stars Philip and Westley Snipes, with Charity Wakefield and Damon Gupton.  More information about the show from Deadline Hollywood:

Thriller The Player, starring Philip Winchester and Wesley Snipes, was an early standout at NBC. The project, from John Rogers and Davis Entertainment, was among the three drama pilots allowed to begin staffing last week...

From the executive producers of The Blacklist and starring Wesley Snipes and Philip Winchester (Strike Back, Fringe) comes an action-packed Las Vegas thriller about a former military operative turned security expert who is drawn into a high-stakes game where an organization of wealthy individuals gamble on his ability to stop some of the biggest crimes imaginable from playing out. Can he take them down from the inside and get revenge for the death of his wife, or is it true what they say: The house always wins.

John Davis, John Fox and director Bharat Nalluri also executive produce. The Player is produced by Sony Pictures Television Davis Entertainment and Kung Fu Monkey.

We might still see some Stonebridge action in this new thriller.

Are you excited?  We are!

We will do our best now to keep fans in the know about this new project.

Looking for Sully's new show, Blindspot, also on NBC, we found this picture from Zap2it:

They may not be on the same show, but at least they will be on the same network!

Delays in Filming Strike Back's Season 4

For the most part, we are on hiatus unless we hear news online about Philip's work.

At this time though, it has been reported that the production for the last season of Strike Back has been put on hold because of a serious injury that happened to one of the stars.

One of our members got the Google alert in email and feared the worst.  We surely didn't want to report that something happened bad to anyone on set, let alone that it happened to Philip.

Still sadly, it has been reported that Sully (Sullivan Stapleton) was injured.  According to reports, it did not happen on set, which is a relief.  But then again, not being on set may mean that there was not a watchful crew that cares for injured staff.

The crew is in Thailand, so we are hoping that it is was a dumb accident and not something caused by another human being.  Variety reports that Sully's publicist said that he was “resting comfortably and on his way to a full recovery.”

Our thoughts are with Sully.  Get well!

Filming will continue with the rest of the cast and crew until the end of March and will be put on hold until the fall (?!) in Hungary.

So...we don't know how that will delay the last season for us diehards.  The world premiere of "300" is coming soon and the film will be out next week in the states and other places.  We'll be there watching Sully fight the hoards of invaders.

He's looking just as good the actors did in the first film.  We cannot wait!

Philip and Sully Answer Fan Questions

After the last episode of the latest season of Strike Back shown in the states, Cinemax and HBO announced that a weekend of Q & As with Philip and Sully was scheduled, as mentioned in a previous blog post.

Philip did get to answer some of the many questions that were asked.  We put in a few questions early on and got some great answers.

You can see all the questions that were asked to Philip here.

Thanks to Cinemax, HBO, Philip, and everyone involved in the Q & A.  It was fun.  We're sure that fans would love another Q & A with both guys in the future.

Q & A didn't quite go through for Sully and fans, but thanks to the Sullivan Stapleton Fans Facebook page, Sully was so generous to answer questions for the fans.  You can read the questions and answers here.

Strike Back Renewed for the Last and Final Season

Good news and bad news.

Good news: We get another season of Stonebridge and Scott.

Bad news: We ONLY get another season of Stonebridge and Scott.

So, we have Youtube videos to look forward to (usually as filming starts in spring), Comic-Con next year, and then the last season will probably start in August again.

Sky, a British station and Cinemax/HBO have ordered 10 more episodes for the last season.

Fans want more episodes because 10 is not enough.

So the questions from fans that they will want to have answered are-

-Will Stonebridge and Martinez finally go on their date?
-Will Stonebridge open up his heart?
-Will Scott meet his son?
-Will Scott settle down?
-Will Scott and Richmond continue their benefits?
-Will the ladies and the boss last through the end of the last season?
-Will Stonebridge and Scott continue their bromance?
-Will there be a video game?  A movie?

Actually, we hope that the guys (and gals) have other projects to keep fans going.

We'll be here for Philip and maybe for a few of his cast mates.  We have his "Undrafted" project coming out, hopefully next year, with the hope to hear about more projects.  Sully has a big film, the sequel to "300", which we will be in line for next spring.  So the guys and gals are probably going to be very busy this season.

Thanks to for finding this jewel on Pinterest.  We need more portraits like this to share with fans.

Ask Philip and Sully a Question

This week is the finale for the 3rd Cinemax season of Strike Back in the U.S.  It has come too soon!  There are too many questions to be answered to finish the series.

To celebrate the last episode, HBO/Cinemax have announced a live Q & A for both Sullivan and Philip.  You can ask the questions and vote for the ones you want to have answered.

To see Philip's page: http://connect.hbo.com/events/cinemax/q-philip-winchester/

To see Sully's page: http://connect.hbo.com/events/cinemax/q-sullivan-stapleton/

You have one more day left to ask questions.

We have posted a few questions and hope to get more questions for Philip.  There are some really good questions.

Here are some pictures from last week's episode, which was a whirlwind of action:

SIckness and Skin (NSFW)

Last week, Stonebridge and Scott wound up in a Russian prison to get in touch with a hacker.

But getting into the prison was, um, well, look below.

The assignment was to stop the hacker and get him out.  They ran into a little distraction, as in their cell mate.  But he was a huge help in getting the guys out.

A tender moment between the guys in their cell.

Scott tells Stonebridge that he has a child.  He also tells Stonebridge about the problem that is affecting Stonebridge's mind and body.  Two episodes ago, it seems like Mikey was getting a hold of the affects of the infection.  He was able to perform his duty to save their commander.  But in prison, Mikey realizes that his problem was not just going to go away.

The scene in the prison cell is a poignant moment but Stonebridge takes it in stride:

So while the guys are in prison, the girls have to get the business done outside:

At the end of the episode, Scott and Stonebridge wind up separated.  Scott winds up with a Russian spy:

While Stonebridge follows an ambulance to where the hacker is being taken.  Little does he know that he's going to be part of something really ugly:

Watch tonight on Cinemax to see if Stonebridge gets out and gets healed, or will we have to wait another week?!

Thanks to Cinemax, sbsection20, and another owner we cannot find.

Meeting the Bad Guy and Repeat!

Last week was episode 3 from the new season and this week was a skipped weekend, mainly because of the U.S. holiday of Labor Day.  No new episode, but you can watch either repeats on Cinemax or catch up on other cable networks all over the world.

So what happened last week?

The guys meet the baddie.

First, Stonebridge (Philip) has a conversation with Larraby (played by the wonderful actor, Dougray Scott).

Of course things do not go well and the fighting begins.

This episode's Stonebridge quote of the week comes from a conversation with an ally's daughter.

All we could think of was the video "Bad Boys":

Or this one, "Wham, bam, I am a man, job or no job, you can't tell me that I'm not," from "Wham Rap".

Sorry for the cheesy vids, but once upon a time, they were hot.

Going back to the first episode, Cinemax has posted clips from the episodes.  Of course, this is our favorite:

The smirk is priceless.  We don't get to many smiles in such a heavy, dramatic series.  We can't wait to see Stonebridge and Martinez in action.

Until next week!
