The Best Strike Back Episode Yet, Countdown to The Player

Hello Philip Fans!

This week we just got to view epsisode 6 in the last season of Strike Back.  To get us ready for the episode, Philip tweeted:

It's pretty cool that he keeps up with the fans and keeps us interested in the work he does.  We are honored to have him follow us at @fansofphilip.

As many viewers of the episode have stated, this was Philip's episode.  He shined as Stonebridge and showed how far of a talent his acting reaches.  His delivery in the interogation scene is absolutely amazing!  He goes from comical to serious drama without losing a step.

Yes, we are biased, but that is why we are his fans.  He delivers exceptional work.

Here's is a video of the beginning of that scene.  It is hillarious.  But it turns dramatic and tense after this.

You have to feel for Damien.  In this scene, Stonebridge is trying to make the N. Koreans look like fools, but it seems Damien feels that his partner has gone nuts, at the expense of Damien's son.  Luckily, that wasn't the case and what Stonebridge did, helped them escape their from their captures.

Towards the end of the episode, we get a glimpse of what could or might have been...a nice send off to Martinez with Stonebridge.  As fans, we had been waiting for something special between the two, but we were not granted that wish.  We hope that they both hook up afterwards, somehow, somewhere...

Will Yun Lee plays Michelle Yeoh's love interest in Strike Back.  

So there you have it--Strike Back actors showing up on one of the two show this month.  Let's hope to see more of them.

The Player has been all over the place with promos.  

During games today, there were a bunch showing up as seen by the tweets of newly interested parties.  The Player and Heroes have a new promo together.  We think that NBC is trying to keep parties interested after Heroes.  Let's hope that people will love the action that Strike Back brought to the table.  

Another thing for fans in the UK-Crusoe, Philip's first TV show, is playing on the Drama channel every Sunday.  Until we know when The Player is going to be broadcasted in the UK and Europe, fans can watch Crusoe for the next 12 weeks.  Lucky fans!

The Player Beach Scenes, Why Philip Should Be the Next Bond

Hey fans!  Happy Labor Day Weekend to our US fans!

No new Strike Back this week as we mentioned, but a lot of other interesting news available to share with fans.

A few reviews of the new show has been released and so far, it is still a show to watch this new fall season.  One of our favorite bloggers/writers is Brittany Frederick @TVBrittanyF.  Read her review here.  

With no new Strike Back, the Player has taken center stage with these stunning pictures of some shooting scenes at the beach!  Looks a little cold out there.  Thank you, JustJared.  To see the whole set of pictures, click the pictures. 

The next news, not really to do anything with Philip, but we want to put this name out there-James Bond.  So, news has it that the man previously inline for the job was Idris Elba.  What a wonderful thing that was going to be!  Suave, tall, dark and handsome.  For some odd reason, the powers that be decided that the audience was not ready for a street type of a character.  Ok people, do you like being told what you like to watch????  It does not make any sense and we're on Idris' side.

But if we can't have Idris, we highly suggest Philip.  Why?  Let us count the ways:

1)  All fans know he can play an English rogue any time.  He knows the language, the jargon, the accent, and he's half British (on his mom's side).  For those of you who didn't know, Philip is from the states.  Montana to be exact.  Amazed?  Mind-blown?

2) He even studied in the same drama/acting school with Benedict Cumberbatch, so he's in the same acting caliber as many of the British actors contending for the role. 

3)  He's got the action scenes down via Strike Back and The Player.

 

 

 

 

4)  He has the physique.  Tall, (taller than Tom Hardy) handsome, and physically fit.  If they need a darker haired male, he can go darker. 

 

5)  He looks great in a tux. 

 

 

6)  The ladies love him and some of the men want to be him.

7)  He's been called a gentleman by his boss, and has the unofficial title of one of the nicest man to work with, by his peers.

8)  He's not afraid to do anything and has the desire to try his own stunts.

 

 

9)  Most of the men who have played Bond were relatively unknown before, which makes Philip a great candidate.  He has a solid fan base, so he has fans, but not so many that he overwhelms the character. 

10) He does not have a movie franchise that he is connected with at the time, which makes him a greater candidate than those listed around the Internet.

And one extra.  He looks cool in shades:

Strike Back on Hiatus For a Week, Newest The Player Promo

After last week's shock in the US/Canada/Asia/South America losing Sgt. Richmond, the guys were out for revenge...on the whole country of North Korea!

The episode left fans at a critical point of the show.  A great cliffhanger.  Will the boys be able to get out of North Korea?  Tune in next time. 

Because of a holiday next weekend, Cinemax/HBO will not be showing the next episode of Strike Back until the following weekend.  But you can catch up on MoreMax or during next weekend, when replays of the first 4 episodes will be broadcasted.  It will be a good time to catch up or go over anything you might have missed the first time.

The Player has a new promo, featuring Philip.

It's been named one of the coolest promos by critics and has more new scenes than previous promos.  Every time a new one is released, more and more new scenes are added.

This Week: Strike Back and In My Sleep

This week was a pivotal episode in Strike Back.  A beloved and vital member of Section 20 was lost in battle.  RIP Sgt. Julia Richmond.

Her passing scene was so moving.  It was a beautiful reminder that not everything in fighting has to come out ugly. 

We were really hoping that one of the guys would have a nice life after the mission.  We have yet to see what else will go on in Section 20 and who will survive in the end.

This episode did make us dislike Li-Na even more.  Michelle Yeoh plays her wonderfully evil.

Next week's episode is going to be full of more adrenaline than before, if that is even possible:

Friday nights are usually Strike Back nights around the Philip fandom, but last Friday, we were also invited to join in live tweeting with Lifetime Movie Network for the showing of In My Sleep.

We spent Friday night tweeting between Strike Back and In My Sleep.  With the director of the film, Allen Wolf @theallenwolf, fans spent the night reading about how the movie was filmed, all the symbolism behind the scenes, and some insight with the actors.  Even Philip tweeted and retweeted a few times.  If you want to check out the conversation, look for #inmysleep tweets or @theallenwolf.

Promoting "The Player" part 2

What do you do when you have one show going on, and you start promoting another one?  That is what the fine men from Strike Back were doing this week.

Both Sully and Philip were in Beverly Hills, promoting their new shows on NBC at a press convention, with other new and returning shows.

With cast members Philip, @WesleyTSnipes, @CharityWakefld, @DamonGupton, plus producers of the show, the panel offered a little more insight to each of the characters and the direction of the show.

Strike Back will be broadcasting the same week as both "The Player" and "Blindspot" (Sully's new show), for about 2 weeks, unless Cinemax/HBO decide to double two of the episodes of Strike Back.

"The Player" premieres on NBC at 10 pm/9 pm Central, after "Blindspot".  Check out NBC.com for "The Player". 

Wonderful news for our hard work in the last 4 plus years of promoting Philip.  His Twitter account is now following our account.  We did not ask for it, but it is an honor to be recognized for the work we have been doing over the past few years.

Strike Back/The Player Going Head to Head

Wow!  Our group has been super busy!  Sorry for the lack of information.  Sometimes it is just easier to retweet, repost, or cut and paste, than it is to write about all the wonderful and awesome things that are happening in Philip's professional life right now.

We were at one point finishing the UK's viewing of Strike Back season 5, starting US/Canada/Asia viewing of season 4/5, and filming the new show, The Player, all in one week!  It was not easy, but we kept up with a good portion of the news.

There are a ton of articles, pictures, videos, and some extra news.

First- we will attempt to blog at least once a week to keep up with everything.

Second-we keep on track on FB and Twitter.  So follow us there to get up to the minute information.

Third-play Strike Back Trivia on Friday nights with us on Twitter.  We play before or around the first showing of Strike Back in the West.

Fourth-probably the most exciting information-Philip now has an official Twitter account and FB account.  We are just as excited as he or his people have been posting pictures from The Player and Strike Back.  His twitter account just passed our Twitter account for number of followers.  We cannot wait to see where this goes when The Player start broadcasting.

Fifth-even though Philip has his own accounts, we will still be here to communicate and connect with fans.  Just because he has his accounts, does not mean it is the end of us.  We have been around for a while, and we enjoy talking about Philip and his work.  As long as he works, we will be talking about him.

Sixth-Happy Birthdays to Rhona Mitra and Milauna Jackson!

Seventh-we will start promoting The Player more heavily in September, when updated promos are released.

Aside from this blog on a weekly basis, we will be working on the forum, where fans can find archives of all stuff we post on social media in one place!  We hope to have this started by the time The Player starts.  No promises, but that is the goal we will be working towards.
